The Beauty Cafe is a beauty boutique specializing in finding unique product lines.

We search the globe to find the finest in fragrances, bath and body, cosmetics, skin care, baby care, and men's grooming! If we don't love it...we simply don't sell it...I've always believed that customers know when you are b.s.'ing them or when you truly believe in what you are selling...it's a thousand times easier to sell something that you personally love and use.

The Beauty Cafe was founded in July 1997 by me, Lisa Slavik. We were one of the first of many beauty and fragrance websites on the internet. Through the years, we've maintained a level of excellent customer service and customer loyalty. While we may not be one of the big boys out there, we've definitely held our own and I attribute that to our higher standards of customer service and the product niche that we carry.

You'll never find your everyday personal care products at Beauty Cafe...you can find them anywhere...instead we search for the niche products, the products that are hard-to-find, start up companies that are looking for a reputable company to introduce their products to an already established clientele. My customers often laugh or are shocked when I recommend products to them that I don't carry. If we are out of stock on an item or an item has been discontinued I'll do my best to help them locate it elsewhere and yes, I will refer them to other online retailers...

People always ask me why I started Beauty Cafe...well simply because when I first moved to Dallas about 16 years ago, I was unable to find all the familiar products that I was spoiled with when living in LA. I found myself traveling to both coasts and product hoarding...and I mean hoarding...then friends would ask me where did I find this or that..pretty soon I was basically a personal shopper for many of them. I also joined a UseNet newsgroup called AltFashion and from there...my addictions to fragrances took off..I was turned on to even more fragrances and product lines than I could imagine. Again, all unaccessible to myself living in Dallas and to others in the newsgroup. After having lunch with a dear friend in NYC one afternoon in June, the Beauty Cafe was born out of my passion for fragrances and high end products and the desire to bring these lines that I had fallen in love with to others who shared my addiction.

So finally, making mom proud of me by using my degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and my background as a Graphic Artist, I created the Beauty Cafe, one of the first online beauty and fragrance websites...and the ride since then has been wild to say the least.

Through the years, Beauty Cafe has been featured in various beauty and fashion magazines from WWD, W, Jane, InStyle, Allure, Mademoiselle, Redbook and recently in Star Magazine. We specialize in locating the products that you read about in the magazines, bringing them home to you. We often special order items for our customers and send out regular emailings to our customers to let them know about new products that we are carrying or special offers. So be sure when you are done visiting the site that you sign up for our mailing list!! We also love suggestions for new product lines! While we do carry internationally known lines, we also love working with start-ups and introducing the new lines to our client base.

By being "authorized," this means that we work with the original vendors, importers and distributors to provide you with the authentic product lines that they carry. We do not discount, nor do we sell what has become known as "grey market" goods and we also do not purchase items from unknown or un-reputable sources. Our product inventory is on a high-turnover rate, so you know that your purchases with us are from fresh inventory, not items that have been sitting on someone's shelves for years before selling off to discounters nor counterfeit items.

We do not sell our customer list, our email list and we don't publicize our celebrity customer's purchases, we respect everyone's right to privacy at the Beauty Cafe. We also do not use other agencies/vendors or companies to drop ship our products to our customer's thereby honoring our customer's privacy. We handle, process and ship all our orders directly to our customers. So your information never leaves us.
