Honey, honey... Waxing Kara at Beauty Cafe

Honey, honey... Waxing Kara at Beauty Cafe

I'm a huge fan of bees and just like Winnie the Pooh - I'm a huge fan of honey too!! Thank goodness for bees and honey! In recent years there has been so much distressing news about the status of bees. How refreshing to hear good news and also meet another huge bee fan, Kara Brook, the owner of Waxing Kara.

Waxing Kara LogoI received a postcard from Waxing Kara a couple of weeks ago introducing me to the line and after reading more and having a delightful conversation (over the phone no less) with Kara, I knew that Waxing Kara was the perfect fit for Beauty Cafe.

So... a little background about Kara. She’s an artist with a fascination for beeswax. Seriously how cool is that? Kara paints and sculpts with encaustic. Encaustic is paint made with beeswax, tree resin and pigment. (Click on the link to read more about Encaustic on Wikipedia) Encaustic art dates all the way back to ancient Egypt.

Haute Cocao MaskKara found herself going through so much beeswax she decided to take up beekeeping. She liked the idea of a sustainable art form (who doesn't love being sustainable), one that came from the earth into her hands. And once Kara learned about bees and how important they are to our environment, she poured as much passion into her bees and the honey they produced as she did for her art. That’s how Waxing Kara was born! Thank goodness for Kara!!

Kara sent me a sampler box of products to try. I've brought in a few of the products that are gourmand based since I know what fiends we all are. I hope you will explore the line with me and will fall in love with Waxing Kara as much as I have.

I'll also be including a Waxing Kara honey lollipop with all Waxing Kara purchases for a limited time!

Love, laughter and friendship,

Lisa
