The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France

Paris, Thirty Years Later

Time flies by... in the blink of an eye. We said goodbye to mom a year ago today. Seriously just seems like yesterday, I held her hand and told her I loved her. We can talk about the stages of grief and finding a new normal in another post.

But I wanted the anniversary of mom's passing to be about celebrating life. Something we don't always do, I've been a full time caretaker now for most of my life and we're not always the best at taking care of ourselves. So, I decided to do a little something just for me. Gosh, even writing that sounds pretty selfish doesn't it. Eek.

Many of you remember Susan from CSP (Comptoir Sud Pacifique), and how 30 years ago we dreamed up Beauty Cafe over breakfast in New York at an alt.fashion get together... well truth be told, all these years of carrying CSP, L'Artisan, Creed and numerous other French-based fragrance lines, I had never stepped foot on French soil. You can stop laughin now... but I kid you not. I lived vicariously through movies, posts, magazines. Susan and I decided what better way to celebrate 30 years of friendship and Beauty Cafe, than a trip to Paris in Spring.

So last fall, which seems forever ago to me, we booked our flights, meeting at Charles de Gaulle airport and booked our rooms. I downloaded and subscribed to every language app I could find to not make a total fool of myself. I followed every Paris Facebook and IG account I could find that seemed interest. Bound and determined to have a full Parisian experience.

Paris did not disappoint... more to come.
